The picture on the back is a dark tree line contrasted by the wide blue sky above it. 'GEORGIA' is written in big white letters across the top, the bottom saying "Welcome to Adventure." It's faded, like it has taken one too many trips in the back of a mail truck, tattered and worn. Eddie flips it over, the back scrawled with quick but somewhat neat handwriting-something personal. Scanning the words his eyes drop to the corner-the address. 'Maddie Kendall, 1500 Hemlock Ave, Hershey, PA 17033' What the hell? Or, An AU where Buck's postcards, which he sent to Maddie, were forwarded to Eddie on deployment by mistake through a Military Outreach Program. They become a reason for Eddie to hold on through the dark times, becoming attached to the man behind the letters and his stories of his travels. Until, by a twist of fate, they bring him face to face with Buck himself. This AU is canon divergent. Some things change but some stay the same.

Buck and Eddie have always had such a special bond that everyone wishes they had in a person. Someone that is just their person inside and out. Everything changes in a blink of an eye, and Buck suddenly feels he has to fight every part of himself to get better, mentally and physically. And Eddie has been there helping Buck pick up the pieces after his accident. During the fight for his life, Buck also realized his true feelings for someone. But during his healing, he also gets a shocking surprise. One that just might give Buck the push he needed in his life to keep pushing forward. After helping Buck pick up the broken pieces of his suffering, what will happen between the two? Will their sparks ignite into something more? Or will those same broken pieces only break them apart. How will the Diaz boys react to Buck's upcoming surprise? How will Buck react? This is my first time ever writing a fanfic, and it is a Buddie (Buck x Eddie from 9-1-1) because it feels NEEDED! lol Tigger warning though, there is talk about abuse and mental health issues, there will be a warning on top of the chapter. Also, this Spoiler alert!! This is going to be a long story with long chapters, so there is your warning lol I like longer chapters. I do not own 911, or any of the characters, or pictures!

Eddie Diaz is straight; he's always been straight. One kiss with his best friend doesn't change that. Okay so maybe more than one kiss, maybe more than kissing. But it still doesn't mean anything. Eddie explains away their newfound sexual relationship as just that, sexual. It's purely physical, and if there aren't any feelings, then Eddie can still be straight. That is what he keeps telling himself. If they keep it casual, there isn't a problem. Buck has thought about kissing Eddie a million times over the past few years. He really wanted to be with him. Is he capable of being just casual? -or- Eddie Diaz grapples with internalized homophobia.
