If you read King Rhoam, Princess Zelda, or Lady Urbosa's diaries, they mention a Queen. The Queen of Hyrule, but's is also known as Zeldas mother. The Queen knew that her daughter had her blood, also known as the goddesses blood. She was supposed to help her on summoning it. However, a turning point came of where she passed away suddenly. One year ago, Link defeated Ganon, freeing Zelda and saving Hyrule. After not having seen Link in many months, they are finally reunited at Zelda's coronation on her 18th birthday. The circumstances of their meeting, however, are not what either of them imagined. This story takes places between the end of the botw story line and the beginning of the totk story line, and tells the story of what happened in that time. It's best not to mess with time. Zelda has been searching for Link for years after sending him off for his personal journey he never returned from. She's the only one who believes he's still out there, everyone else has moved on but her. She's stuck in a repeating cycle, her mind only focusing on one thing.
