A MAHABHARATA RETELLING ~~~ All the other flowers in the garden were brought up to envy the rose. Maybe shun it even. And admire it, too. Unusual ways. Too-red petals, too-sharp thorns, too-sweet fragrance. If only each flower did not have a mind of its own. If only stories were truly what one hand wrote them to be. If only the blood on every thorn was the fault of the rose and not that of the hunter. ~~~ Her breathing had suddenly halted as her eyes had accidentally landed on a piece of paper carelessly tucked under the lampholder on the bedside table. It looked like the work of a royal servant who had accidentally come across it while cleaning the room and then picked it up and tucked it away. She had carefully sat up and reached for it. The hot metal of the lampholder - like the one she had seen Draupadi seamlessly remove from a counter - had almost seared her palm, as she had hurriedly but carefully pushed it aside and retrieved the folded piece of what seemed like pearlescent paper. Touching it had felt like a grave invasion of privacy, but the curiosity that had suddenly roared and raced within her like a great river breaking free off a cliff. She had hurriedly unfolded the paper and had been greeted by a not-so-perfect handwriting and a volley of letters. It was a letter. A letter that looked like someone had ripped their heart out and presented it to someone on a piece of pearlescent paper. ~~~ WARNINGS: Scenes of intimacy and violence, possible hints of self-harm or similar intentions

In a world of glittering royalty where morality is synonymous to ettiquettes, crude originality is what lured into into each other's eyes and arms. Their story doesn't worship love in all its otherworldly sanctity. But they talk of blood, darkness, shadows and the crudeness that stands out like a raw, uncut diamond in a field of shimmering gold. Maybe that is what the original core of love is made of. Desire that burns the heart down to the ground. Longing that threatens to tear the soul apart. Truth that galres as hard as darkness. And flaws that make them crudely human. Join them in their heart-wrenching journey of imperfections that lay hidden under the facade of nothing but perfection. ~~~~~~ An Arjuna-Draupadi Fanfiction.

Svara, a 20-year-old classical dancer in Dwaraka, leads a life of simplicity, devoted to her dance and the beauty of her art. Unaware of the divine world around her, she spends her days as a temple dancer, lost in the rhythms of her performances. But when the charming and enigmatic Krishna enters her life, something shifts. As their paths intertwine, Svara begins to feel a connection she can't explain. Amid the grandeur of Dwaraka, she is drawn to Krishna-unaware that he is the very force shaping her destiny. ----------------- Svara mumbled, eyes glistening, "You don't know what it's like... to feel unwanted by the world." The King of dwarka's voice was steady, calm, "Then let me show you what it feels like to be wanted by me... with no conditions, no questions, no end." Svara glanced away, voice trembling slightly, "And when I push you away?" He gave a small, sad smile, "I'll wait at the edge of every silence you leave behind... until you're ready to let me in."

War. Suffering. Despair. The year 4350, Kali Yuga's peak. Virtue and dharma had disappeared from the face of Earth long back and all that remained now was despair. To escape from the hell they called home, Syxira and Zolani agree to be scapegoats for a time travel experiment. When the time-travel experiment goes wrong, they're sent back to the era of Dwapar Yuga, a time of gods and kings. Thrown back in time to the epic of Mahabharat, they find solace near the banks of the Ganga, the forests of Aryavarta and the palaces of Hastinapur. They view the epic from far away, but can't help being drawn in themselves. But they face their worst enemy-God himself. Because even in this new world, their hatred for Krishna runs deep. The cheeky, flute-playing God hadn't helped them as they lost everything in Kaliyug. Yet, here he played his flute with no worries in mind. They argue all day, and scream all night but never make up for the silly fights. But, will their fury keep them from finding peace or will they have to confront the very gods they despise? Will they ever let themselves be a part of the famous tale of Mahabharat? ⋅•⋅⊰∙∘☽༓☾∘∙⊱⋅•⋅ This book is being written in collaboration of Error_1242 and bhadra-.
