When Katherine Valentine meets the one and only Randall Boggs while working one day at Monsters Inc she immediately feels a connection with him. A connection she has not felt with someone in a long time. However, when she learns of Waternoose's plan to use Randall in order to kidnap human children she must find a way to let Randall know that all Waternoose is doing is using him for his own selfish reasons. Everything that Katherine does for Randall sparks a change in him, a change he hasn't felt in such a long time. But just as things turn brighter a monster from Katherine's past threatens her life. Will Randall be able to stop this mysterious monster before he can deceive Katherine just like Waternoose did to him and use her for selfish reasons of his own?
