Mit diesen drei Worten, mit diesem Tag - seinem Geburtstag, endete und begann sein altes und neues Leben. Clay war in einer armen Familie aufgewachsen. Großgezogen von einem Alkoholiker und einer Diebin. Zu seinen Eltern oder wie sich herausgestellt hatte Adoptiveltern hatte er seit er klar denken konnte kein gutes Verhältnis. Sein gesamtes Leben hatte er in einem Drecksloch verbracht, mit Drecksleuten - etwas anderes kannte er nicht. Noch am Abend seines Geburtstages bekam er einen Anruf von seiner Mutter, doch am Telefon sprach nicht seine Mutter, sondern ein Polizist, der Clay darüber aufklärte, was nach dem Streit mit und zwischen seinen Eltern passiert war. Der Tag, das Geschehen und der Moment, der anfing sein Leben schlagartig zu verändern, denn es stellte sich ebenfalls heraus, dass Clay an diesem Tag noch überhaupt nichts Geburtstag hatte, sondern erst einen Monat später und somit noch minderjährig war und deshalb seine leiblichen Eltern kontaktiert wurden, zu denen er sich begeben musste. Nach und nach erfuhr Clay wer er eigentlich wirklich war und währenddessen hatte er sich mit George herumzuschlagen - seinem wohl neuen Stiefbruder und der Seite der nicht ganz so armen Menschen.

George catches himself falling in love and when those feelings are returned, he can't help but feel terribly guilty for the decision he made earlier. Ein Nachbar geht - ein neuer kommt. Nachdem Clay aus und weggezogen war, zog jemand neues neben George ein - Caden. George ließ sich auf Caden ein, obwohl sein Herz noch immer für Clay schlug, doch er schien sich selbst und anderen mit Caden etwas beweisen zu wollen. Jedenfalls, bis Clay eines Tages plötzlich wieder vor ihm stand.
