After being told that he couldn't be a hero by everyone and then finally his idol, Izuku walked away in a daze, ending up at the scene of a rampaging villain and proved everyone wrong, before later inheriting the No.1 Hero's quirk... Izuku was denied the one thing that he loved: being a hero. At age 11, he was told he couldn't be a hero by the #1 hero and his idol, All Might. He had almost took his life at that point, but Eraser Head found him and took him home. Eraser Head said Izuku could become a hero if he put the work into it, regardless if he had a quirk or not, and Izuku took those words to heart. So he started a plan to become a vigilante; a hero who wasn't bound by the law. All Izuku wanted to do was save people, and he will. Izuku will shove it in All Might's face that he can in fact become a hero, all while being quirkless.
