The War of the Worlds is a science fiction novel by English author H. G. Wells first serialised in 1897 in the UK by Pearson's Magazine and in the US by Cosmopolitan magazine. The novel's first appearance in hardcover was in 1898 from publisher William Heinemann of London. Written between 1895 and 1897, it is one of the earliest stories that detail a conflict between mankind and an extraterrestrial race. The novel is the first-person narrative of both an unnamed protagonist in Surrey and of his younger brother in London as southern England is invaded by Martians. The novel is one of the most commented-on works in the science fiction canon.

Praytho was ruled by the Immortal Dragons for millennia; each dragon harnessing their element and helping the world prosper. But that was before Lychordia Antony; the first dragon tamer. She changed the Abandoned Earth and not for the better. Cressida is a 19-year-old soldier, braving the mountains to get to the border of the neighbouring country Pechyae. The Pechyaeans have been out for blood, since Lychordia took over the Praythian government. Cressida finds herself separated from her squad and in a dark and dreary cave all by herself. Or so she thought... But what happens when Cress learns that her world of war is not what it seems? So I wrote this for a class, its a fantasy story and I'd appreciate any and all feedback!!
