The conduits proved to be immune to the cordyceps were experimented on by Fedra to try to get a cure, but cracking the code of a conduit's genetic structure was difficult because most weren't even able to produce viable dna samples because blood tests would have the blood turning into the conduit's element. Y/N is a conduit. He's a young man who lives with Joel and Tess and is soon to accept a job that will change his outlook on life. Definitely read the bio.
