Sheriff Woody, a good-hearted cowboy doll, who belongs to a young boy named Braedey Martin, sees his position as Braedey's favourite toy jeopardized when his mother buys him a Buzz Lightyear action figure, and a special doll along with him. But, Woody's partner, Braedimus Prime, a good-Sparked Autobot action figure, reassures him it won't come to that. Even worse, the arrogant Buzz thinks he's a real spaceman on a mission to return to his home planet. When Braedey's family prepare to move to a new house, Woody, Braedimus, the new doll, and Buzz must escape the clutches of maladjusted neighbour Sid Phillips and reunite with their owner before they move out.
