You see, Draco was deaf. No one bothered to get to know the poor boy, it was too troublesome to learn sign language. That is, until one Harry Potter offers to sit by him on the train in fifth year. Learning that the boy cannot hear, they write notes the rest of the trip. Harry soon becomes determined to be the boy's best friend.
