After the death of Aimon, his son takes his place as King. But a threat is looming in the form of Segar Delam, and ex-soldier who thinks he can improve the country--by conquering it.

A frustrated Nancy Drew turns to Detective Abe Tamura for help tracking down the Road Back. As they work together, their flirty banter starts to turn into something more. But just as Nancy decides what she wants, the detective starts pulling away. Meanwhile, she is pulled deeper into the mystery of the Road Back-and realizes that her new partner might have some secrets of his own.
