"What's your name?" He asked her in a straight cold tone. Akshita and all the employees stared at him as if he was a GHOST, but he kept looking at her with an emotionless face. "Ask her for her name", he ordered the girl, his voice indicating danger. "Wh...What is...is your name Miss?" the girl asked Akshita, stuttering out of fear. "Ak...Akshita" she replied, looking anywhere but at him, blinking her eyes to stop her tears. Fortunately, she was successful. What kind of woman would like it when her husband asks for her name, 4 months after their marriage! That too in front of all those people who know about their relationship? "Full Name" He commands. "Akshita Raghuvanshi", she replies again. The girl's eyes widened in realization. "I said FULL. NAME." He ordered furiously, stressing on the last two words. "Akshita Ekansh Raghuvanshi" she replied again, this time looking down. The name itself gives shivers. "Mrs. Akshita Ekansh Raghuvanshi" He states every word clearly, looking at Akshita. She snaps her head towards him in an instant, shock and confusion evident in her expressions. Her full name, from his mouth, created a domination aura around the place. It gave her butterflies, his name with hers, as one. ----------- It's a Fictional book I don't have any intentions to hurt anyone's feelings so please don't take it on heart. Once upon a time, men and women entered marriage with very clear policies regarding the division of labour: he would go to work and "bring home the bacon," while she would stay at home and cook, clean, and raise the children. Things aren't the same as they used to be. Modern Indian romance, intimacies, and marriages are far more complicated than assessments and reality television shows portray. In India, arranged marriages are an unique and complex process. People seek a 'soulmate' with whom they can spend the rest of their lives, but they also have specific expectations of the potential bride or groom. There is a strong narrative about finding love, compatibility, and connection, but what stands out is a real intent to replicate class identities beneath all of this. In a country that depends on a spending population, "middle class" is a necessary armour, a shared language, a value system, and, more importantly, a way of life. Life may be unjust, irritating, and disarmingly disappointing on most days. Being middle class, on the other hand, creates character in a culture obsessed with the need to be a part of the rat race. Marriage also places the onus of making sacrifices, concessions, and making the marriage work on the couple. This tale illuminates the unseen and underappreciated aspects of an Indian arranged marriage, the life of a middle-class wife and husband and their shared responsibilities as they navigate through life. Immense amount of desi tadka awaiting your way. *I don't own the illustration on the poster.*

Tears hung at those thick lashes. "My heart doesn't want you. Not anymore." "Your heart lies." His finger slid down her neck. A sinister smile made those tears fall, "And when the heart lies," the finger replaced by a strong fist held the back of her neck. His lips reached barely inches away from hers.
