A Treebros fanfic (yay)! I'll put trigger warnings at the start of a chapter. Also, this might include swearing. When Connor Murphy stops Evan Hansen from jumping out of a tree, everything changes.

Just different stories of everyone's favorites: Connor and Evan! (tree bros, obviously) This is my first DEH fanfiction, so I hope you enjoy. I don't own any of these amazing characters.

On Monday, September thirteenth, youthly youtuber by the name of Connor Murphy attempted to take his own life on a livestream on Youtube. His small account consisted of only a few dozen videos, most of which are Connor simply venting to his camera as a form of self-care. A few of the videos were only a maximum of five minutes long, where Connor would show his scars off to the screen, and explain their backstories. Connor's rather dark channel only consisted of a few thousand followers, including those who could relate to his stories. However, thousands turned to millions when Connor began his first livestream, the label of which being 'My Suicide'. Those who clicked the link were there either to witness the man's suicide for themselves, or beg the man to think about his actions. However, Connor's viewers witness nothing short of an attempt, the boy collapsing to the floor, his fan half-hanging from his ceiling. "I could hear him coughing and wheezing out of the camera's view." "That look in his eyes explained it all to me. He didn't want to die. Not then, at least." Though Connor may be a local youtuber of his town, nobody was able to detect any recognizable parts of his home to locate his address. And after tracking the device from the still running livestream, police were able to find the young male's location. However reports and footage from body cams revealed that by the time the police arrived at the home, Youtuber Connor Murphy had already exited the home, seemingly taking all of his belongings with him in a hurry.

There's an old proverb that says that when something is 'out of sight, out of mind', it means that you forget things that aren't there anymore. That's how I am. Invisible. Unseen, unheard. A face in the crowd. Alone in my own little lifeboat, floating in the sea. I try not to care, I really do. I try not to let it bother me how everyone's gaze slides off of me like water, as if I'm not even there. "You wrote this because you knew I'd find it." I chew at my lip. "You knew I'd find it and freak out." Before I know it he's storming out. After school on the day Evan and Connor have their run-in, Evan happens to help save Connor's life. Their families grow close and now they have to learn to get along, despite Connor's distaste for the anxious boy. They get caught in a lie that winds into a bigger lie of them dating. Everyone is born with a timer on their wrist, counting down to the exact time they'll meet their soulmate. Connor Murphy doesn't believe in soulmates. Or rather, that he doesn't have one. At the beginning of the summer, something happened. His timer stopped. He didn't meet his soulmate. The timer broke. It stopped at 2 months, 1 day, 3 hours and 23 minutes. (Stop looking at me like that, Connor, it was sarcasm!) Evan was nervous. Extremely nervous. He looked around the school lockers. Who was that boy with shoulder-length way brown hair, a black jacket and jeans? He saw him somewhere. He knew he did. Connor hated school. Absolutely hated it. School was hell. But, something is different about this year. It has something to do with that cute-no not cute-boy with blond short, a light blue polo shirt and khakis. Has he seen him somewhere before?......Definitely. (Cover is not mine! I don't know who made it, but it is awesome!)
