"I'm trying to complete my moms summer list from when she was in high school," I explain, and Ace snatches the paper out of my hand. I reach for it, but he holds it high above his head so I can't. I huff and cross my arms. His eyes scan the page and his lips purse. "Dev, everything on here is lame. Nothing requires actual adventure," he says, and I scoff. "What do you propose I do about that?" I snap, my lips curved into a smirk. Ace sighs and hands me back the paper. "I'll complete this list with you so aren't the loser doing it by yourself." He then comes closer to me so our faces are only inches apart and he continues, his voice husky. "But only if I get to pick what we do first."

We've always been told to think before we speak, so as not to offend anyone. Maddie Hayes is over it. No matter what is said, someone is going to get offended. She just doesn't care anymore. For someone who grew up with five older siblings, Maddie has never felt more alone. Now that they're all out of the house and starting their own families, that loneliness has manifested into anger at the feeling of being abandoned. Madeline was never supposed to be the 'good girl'. From the years of sarcasm, she's learned from watching her older siblings, Maddie is 'that girl,' the girl that everyone envies, who can make you cry with just a look. But maybe her life isn't so great as she wants everyone to believe. Maybe she's tired of being forgotten by her older siblings; maybe she's angry because her parents work too much or that her friends would never actually be there for her if things got tough. Maybe she's just sick of all the bullshit.

There are many lines in this world we shouldn't cross: the line between right and wrong, the line between ethics and morals, the line between love and hate... There are many lines that are drawn out for a reason, but they're also drawn out thin, making it impossible to not slip to the other side at least once. ------------- Hannah Hale has never been one to cross the lines. She's never desired to. When her best friend Olivia forces her to sneak into a club one night, she's already crossed the line of right and wrong. Getting caught at the wrong place at just the right time throws Hannah into a whole new world that she never knew about. A world that causes her to cross every line possible. Ace Russo is the heir to the Sicilian Mafia. He's cold, evil, and ruthless. Most importantly, he has no problem crossing the lines. When a drug deal in America goes awry, he's forced to cross the line, and border, by kidnapping a witness and holding her hostage in Sicily. The question is, should lines ever be crossed?

*Being Published in 2022* ❝You can't deny that you're attracted to me, Nyx. Instead of fighting it, let's see what happens,❞ he grumbled, hands roaming my body. His thumb brushed my bottom lip. ❝Open up for me, baby.❞ -------------------------------------------------------- Nyx just can't seem to escape her eternal night, the very darkness she was named after. She tries to play her cards right, however, the outcome is a paradox. Whilst she obtains the results she wanted, it comes at the expense of some of her relationships. Angry at the world, her hatred is ravenous for none other than Beckham Hunt, captain of the ice hockey team. Beckham loathes Nyx Taylor after what she's done, that much he is certain of. Nobody boils his blood as she does and when she's hired to assist his team during championship season, he discerns that there's more to her story than meets the eye. She was always the villain in his story. But, suddenly she's the plot twist he never saw coming. Each glare and scowl and insult piles up, put under tremendous pressure by their mutual hatred. Yet, peeking through their fury clouded vision, they find the centre of their relationship blazing. Like two rival stars gravitating towards each other, Nyx and Beckham can do nothing when the law of attraction forces them to accept that passion doesn't always mean hatred, but perhaps something more. **FAIR WARNING: YOU WILL HAVE TO BE PATIENT WITH CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT, BUT IT IS THERE, AND WORTH THE READ. IF YOU ARE OVERLY SENSITIVE, DO NOT READ THIS BOOK* Logan Pierce and Noah Locke are sworn enemies. Both at the top of their class, holding themselves to the highest standards; both captains of their volleyball teams, Logan as the girls captain, Noah as the boys; and both constantly playing seemingly harmless pranks to get back at one another. Or, at least, they're usually harmless... If one thing is true, Noah Locke and Logan Pierce are not friends. But does that mean they could never be friends? Or transcend their title as enemies? Logan might take things too far sometimes, but there's a reason behind the angry front she puts on, and in order to get behind it, someone needs to show her that there's more to life than being the best at everything. Cue Noah Locke. When the two volleyball teams are sent away to a team bonding camp for a week over Fall break, Logan and Noah must learn to get along for the sake of their teams. Partnered up and made to do activities together and bond, the goal is for Noah and Logan to stop this ongoing feud. And when something happens at the bonding camp that brings Logan's vulnerable side up to bat, Noah is the one who has to bring her back. While Logan and Noah explore something other than hatred for one another, there are secrets and people who could be working in toll to bring them apart. But will they be able to transcend those factors and stop fighting for once? Or were they destined to be enemies forever? "Better Than You" challenges the idea that enemies have to stay enemies forever, and proves that if you don't run away from love, you may just find where you were meant to be.

She looks up at me, taking a step forward and smiling slightly, "How can I ever get hurt when I have you here to protect me?" "But you could have gotten hurt," I murmur softly, hanging my head and feeling my shoulders drop, the tension seeping from my body. "No. Stop," She cuts me off sternly but tenderly, "Don't talk like that, Reece. I'm okay, you're okay, we're okay," She speaks softly, reaching her hand up to gently brush her thumb over my cheek, just under the cut that's there. "We're okay," I repeat, taking a small step closer to her. She nods with a small smile, moving her hand down from my cheek and instead placing the palm of her hand on my chest, right over my heart. I know she can feel how fast my heart is beating. I just don't know why it's doing that. ~ Reece Carter is the bad boy of Northwood High. He smokes and he fights. He has countless tattoos covering his body. And he doesn't care about anything or anyone else. Layla Stevens is your average seventeen year-old girl, just trying to get through high school, with the friends she loves and doing the things she loves.
