If a mutation proves to be advantageous, then the organism is more likely to survive so the mutation will be passed on. The study of these mutations has been one of the main focal points of medical scientists for years; mostly, or so the public believe, in an attempt to cure or prevent the threats to life caused by these mutations. Genetic diseases, deformity, small sections of coding that increase the risk of some ailment or other or perhaps just undesirable traits. Our grasp of genetics is improving exponentially, and it poses the question: if you could rewrite your DNA sequence from scratch, why settle for blonde hair and blue eyes when you can give yourself wings. Not all mutations are accidental.
