The Conklin's go to Cousins Beach every summer with their mom and her best friends Susannah and her two sons. Bree never felt in place at Cousins Beach, whether it be how she looks or even the fact she was adopted. Belly had always been the favorite and always got everything she wanted. The only reason Bree looked forward to Cousins Beach was because of the Fisher boys. Jeremiah was Brees best friend at Cousins and Conrad was always so nice to her. Bree has always had a thing for Jeremiah but he always seemed so consumed in Belly, or so she thought, until the summer everything changed.

YN has lived next to the Fisher's for her entire life. Boston was where she grew up, where she met her first best friend, and where she loved for the first time. Boston had rules. Jeremiah was her best friend. Conrad was his brother. Conrad and Jeremiah were friends. Cousins and the summer were for broken rules.
