"There's no denying it-either I'm hallucinating or Cole Winton is standing on my porch." Jamie is used to putting pen to paper. She's been doing it for years, and has a slew of novels to show for it. For the most part, she's left alone to write which is what she prefers. But this is the first time someone has knocked on her door, insisting they are one of her characters. This is the first time someone demands to know how she knows what she does, declaring it treason. Armed with only her pen, her notebook, and her cat, Inkwell, she finds out just how much of their own lives her characters have taken on outside of her novels. Dom is a worldly man who has managed to carve out a path for himself despite his humble origins: He has traveled throughout the Duchy, studied under the tutelage of monks at one of the finest monasteries, and has also served as a soldier in the Great Alliance War. This résumé should be impressive, were it not for the fact that he hung up his habit as soon as he had the chance, deserted the battlefield, and now wanders from town to town like a fugitive from justice. But, in any case, what are these but irrelevant details? On this occasion, the road has brought him to San Cipriano dei Monti, a small village over which rumors hang about a monster: a vampire of uncertain origin who has been threatening for months to drink the blood of innocent children. Of course, Dom doesn't believe in such nonsense. But when he learns that the local count is offering a substantial reward for capturing and killing the vampire, he does not hesitate to join the hunt. After all, how hard could it be to capture a beast that doesn't exist?

Seth Veregin is Severance, and there used to be a clear line between reality and fantasy. What happens when that line starts to blur? Season 2 of Eliona's War ___ There's something wrong with Eliona, but by the time Seth Veregin realizes how serious it is, it's too late. Quitting is no longer an option. Ever since it came out on the market, Eliona's War has been shrouded in mystery. Its incredible realism has players flocking to it, but its quirks cause frustration in its player base. When NPCs have the power to freely murder players and prevent them from advancing in the main questline, it's clear that there's something far more sinister going on than a few bugs in the script. As the only healer of the Veiled clan, Severance gets a front row seat to all the mayhem. His clan starts a lot of trouble for being supposedly hidden, and Severance is the one who must face the consequences. To survive, he must get stronger, but there's a price to pay for power...

But when he's gifted a beta copy of Eliona's War - a Virtual Reality online game that's the very first of its kind - he reluctantly gives it a try. Thus, Severance the healer is born. All he wants is to quietly explore on his own without having to deal with other people. Unfortunately for him, there's a few problems with that plan. Not only did he choose a class that's in high demand, but some players just won't take no for an answer. And the game NPCs? They definitely have a mind and an agenda of their own.

Almost a year ago, Olivia Shadowheart and Jason Frostsong had to figure out how to protect a city from its own possessed citizens without anyone knowing they'd had anything to do with it. They are Banshee and Cryophoenix--two of six Luminaries that save the Manifested from themselves when the Other takes their minds and turns them into twisted monsters bent on revenge. But like all Luminaries, Banshee and Cryo's true identities are a secret, even from each other. As the newest Luminary pair, not much is expected of them except to learn and train for their eventual responsibility in a few years but Banshee's got ambition. Their lives, both civilian and Luminary, are about to collide.
