Howler, the son of a dark and light wolf, and his kingdom fall victim of a raid which causes the whole place to collapse leaving no survivors except for a few. Howler is then whisked away to the safety of Tennicent where he makes a discovery that connects him to the past and his future.

Howler, the first grey wolf of the world Roewok, goes on many quests to overcome evil and learn more about his father and his past. But in the final chapter he is asked a question that determines his fate. Through the series there will be bold letters at the end of each book, and once together they say something unexpected.
