A new law is passed in New Ninjago City, stating that all droids are a threat to humanity and should be taken into custody immediately. This even applies to one of the cities' hero's, Zane.

The past comes to the future when Ray and three other elemental masters from the past somehow travel to the future. Can the ninja get the Elemental Masters back home before it messes up their future? Or will time run out?

Master Chen is on the loose, and the two teams of ninja have formed a tentative alliance in order to hunt him down. With the help of the other Elemental Masters, they just might stand a chance. However, as the stakes grow higher and lines between the ninja are blurred, the question remains of who will be left standing at the end of it all? In this alternate timeline, Garmadon was never bitten by the Great Devourer. But instead, his brother Master Wu, the King of the Underworld, is now devising a plan so he can wield the Weapons of Spinjitzu and rule over Ninjago. The ninja were 2 minutes earlier to the showdown at the end of season 11. They captured Vex before he could go in the throne room while Zane and Lloyd were fighting, thus not unlocking Zane's memory. Disaster ensues.

Kai and Nya are transporting a magical artifact on a mission when something goes wrong and the artifact brings them to a world where there are others who can control the elements like them. Some stuff about how they control it is the same and others are different. Kai and Nya are now stuck in the new realm where in a terrible event they are separated. Kai somehow ends up with a prince scarred in more ways than one and needs a new hairstyle desperately along with a man he suspects is related to Wu. Nya ends up with a pacifist twelve year old, someone who can control water like her, and a boomerang guy who's more skilled than he gives himself credit for. How will they get home? How will they keep their identities secret? Will they be able to help their new friends learn peace is possible? And will Kai finally get proof Wu's related to the old man? Read to find out.
