Ever since meeting the piece of Tom Riddles soul from the diary in second year, Harry and the Dark lord have been using their mind link to speak to eachother. Harry learns more of what the darks goals are and that the light are using him. Not believing the notorious dark lord until he smells potion laced in his food and drinks at the last dinner feast at hog warts. Two days before his seventh year at hogwarts begins, Harry receives a beating from his uncle, based on the belief that his uncle had that he had used magic when they weren't home. Barely alive and passed out, Harry was able to contact Tom one more time and wake up to get out of the house for Tom to take him home.
