Several millennia ago a war raged between the factions of dragonkind. With their world ravaged, the Kaldean Alliance forged the Amulet of Draconic Control and the Tethering Stone, and banished their foes to other realms, saving Kalda from utter destruction. Fearing the power of the Amulet, the survivors secreted it away. But now knowledge of the Amulet has resurfaced-and in the wrong hands, war could erupt anew. Long ago, men harnessed the Channels of Power, creating tevisrals-devices capable of manifesting magic. But men weren't the only ones to accomplish such feats. Dragons crafted the most sophisticated tevisrals. These shaped the world, defining civilization of man and elf alike. Over the centuries, the people of Kalda have fallen into a dark age, where elves are estranged from men and dragons have retreated into legend. Tevisrals are scarce and men are willing to trade everything for them. But there are some who wish to bury the past, and in their lands, possessing tevisrals is tantamount to treason. Still, daring men scour the world in search of Kalda's past. One such man, the scholar Krindal, seeks an ancient order known as the Keepers of Truth and Might. He yearns for their knowledge, long feared lost. Prince Kaescis Midivar also searches for these Keepers. The assassination of his uncle, the emperor of Mindolarn, killed his hopes of peace with his empire's enemies. His empire's survival hinges upon unearthing the Keepers' secrets. An aging warrior, Cornar Dol'shir, longs to be home with his wife. But his retirement must wait, as his band of adventurers is recruited to help find the Keepers' hidden temple on the Isle of Klindala. Haunted by his tragic past, Iltar, the Son of Adrin, does not join in the search for the Keepers. Instead, he seeks to unravel the mysteries held within a volume of prophecy foretelling the advent of the Unspoken One and the return of the Crimson Eye.

"My name is Eve, and my story isn't the typical one. Where a human shows many aliens, amongst many worlds, the beauty of what it means to be human, hoping they change their ways. No. This is my story, and I would never change it. Where a humans' ability to learn how to survive and adapt amongst those many aliens, on those many worlds is beautiful in its own right. I found a life I never dreamed of. It's mine now. Well, ours really. Through the devastation and through the bliss, it became our story along the way, and we'll never give it up." Eve is sitting in an alien prison, though prison is too nice a word for where Eve is thrown. Amongst animals (she assumes anyway), the aliens pay no attention to her, as they think she is no better than the monkeys and other animals that yell from their cell. When Ardaxur, another alien, is thrown in with the animals as a punishment, he can't believe that he has to spend 2 days amongst any of these filthy beasts (he's never going to do another favor for his friend again). When the animal he is thrown in with talks to him, using some type of device to translate for her, he sees her and sees that the merchants on the ship are involved in more than he ever knew. *all mature chapters have a non-mature version of the same chapter, which is posted after the mature version.* My book is rated mature, and it isn't rated mature because of a few curse words or just a little violence. There is violence, sexual content (consensual), and if there are other triggers I will make you aware before a chapter. Some books use the mature rating for reasons that I don't ever really figure out. But not this book (or any of my books). It earns that mature rating. Please do not read if these things bother you. *I try to use actual science in my sci-fi (though sometimes the laws of physics just don't want to help me out)*

Meet Eve Black: I decided to flirt with the guy that did it, "Heyyyy cutie," I say with a wink. "Hey, pretty lady," he says in a gross seductive tone. I can't deny that he is very handsome. He had piercing green eyes that would make any girl go weak at the knees. But I am not any girl. "Can I ask you something?" before he could respond I continue, "Why did you try to drug me?" He looks shocked as my tone went from flirtatious to serious in a matter of two seconds. "Well, I have no idea what you are talking about," he says while slightly panicking. I stand up, "Well if you don't know what I am talking about then why don't you take a sip of my drink?" a few heads turned our way and start watching. "N-no I am good," he stammers confirming that he did in fact try to drug me as I suspected. "You know what, I don't give a damn what you say you 'don't know anything about' because I know what you tried to do to me." I pick up my drink and smash the glass on his head. I watch as the pink drink that was in the glass stains his white button-up collar shirt and his face turns red with anger and embarrassment. As I am walking out I yell back, "You know damn well what you did too." I flip him the bird and I leave the bar and Hazel and all her friends behind. *** Book Cover done by @_navyblueee_
