Vanessa Wright was a bright young witch. A half blood, living in a dangerous world where trouble was looming around every corner. But as a Hogwarts student, she was mostly safe from it all and, like her fellow school mates, turned a blind eye to the fast approaching war for as long as she could. Vanessa lived a great life and she knew it. She was pretty, smart, funny, and very charismatic. If she completely ignored the troubles brewing outside the Hogwarts castle, her life was perfect. Except for one thing. Or rather, one person. James Potter. Ever since she first stepped foot inside the castle she has had strong rivalry with James Potter. Being in the same year and house one would think they'd be friends. Wrong. They competed about absolutely everything. Who was the better quidditch player? Who got the better grades? Who was Professor McGonagall's favorite? Who did Sirius Black love more? Who could fit more cauldron cakes in their mouth? (surprisingly that was Vanessa) And eventually, who could deny their feelings longer?
