A young, quiet, half elf girl named Mariel is chosen by Gandalf the Grey to accompany him, Thorin's company and a Hobbit named Bilbo Baggins to reclaim the dwarves homeland, Erebor. Mariel was planning on fighting in wars and killing a dragon. But was she planning on falling in love?

She was pushed to edge to run away from her kingdom due to the enggagement that her father and Lord Thrunduil agreed upon for her and Mirkwood's prince Legolas. Not wanting to tie the knot to the prince, she ran away from her home. From her people. From her father. And that's where her adventure begins.
