Within the world of YGGDRASIL exists a LV100 Overlord called Momonga, who is also the Guild Master of Ainz Ooal Gown. However, what people don't know is that Momonga has a father who plays YGGDRASIL with him... This story focuses on Akito Satoru, a single father who was forced to raise a young Suzuki after his wife collapsed and died. After so many years of being the best father he could, and helping his son through the trauma of losing his mother, Akito introduced Suzuki to the DMMO-RPG known as YGGDRASIL, which he was secretly a developer for. The father-son-duo spent as much time as they could playing the game, grinding to reach the top of the leader boards, whilst cherishing the time they spent together. Sadly, these moments could not last forever; roughly ten years after the game was released, Akito fell victim to a deadly virus that slowly shut down his internal organs. During his last moments, he sat upon the Throne of Ainz Ooal Gown with his son beside him, comforting the old man in his final moments. Suzuki's friends watched in pained silence as their Guild Master's father was taken from their lives, his avatar disappearing from sight. However, what they did not know was that Akito had been reincarnated into the New World roughly ten thousand years before the events of Overlord. Robert Crane always like playing the villain in videogames. He spends most of his gaming time in YGGDRASIL with the guild known as Ainz Ooal Gown. He spends his gaming time hanging out with his friends and sending his own Nighlok army to attack other guilds. Robert enjoys his time with the guild but one day his father, John, tells him that they are shutting down YGGDRASIL servers. Robert is sadden that all his hard work with the guild will go to waste but he can't change what is happening. Little does he know that his life in YGGDRASIL is about to become his new life for the rest of time.

An overlord of great spiritual power has found their guild in another world. And when they learn how fucked up the humans are, it's time for some masacure!

It was supposed to end. The servers were getting shut down and there was nothing I could do to stop it. As a guildless player, there was no place that I could call home to wait for the end to come or any close comrades to spend this game's last moments with. So, why does everything seem so real all of a sudden? And why do I have the thirst to take a look inside this world's core and cut into it?

An OVERLORD story. I thought about making it about an original character but in the end went for the Male Reader insert, tho I plan to call the protagonist by the Character Username from Yggdrasil starting from Chapter II onward, I did this to appeal to both people who enjoy Reader Inserts and people who dont care for it, meaning it is essentially a Male Reader insert but I won't refer to the character as Y/N nor Address the Reader directly by saying "Your POV" after the second chapter of the story. This is also the first story/fanfic I have ever written so feedback is appreciated.

Momonga has a son named (Y/N) IRL. He took care of him ever since his GF died while in child birth. When his son was 10 Momonga showed him a DMMO-RPG game called Yggdrasil and let him into his and his friends clan of Ainz Ooal Gown. (Y/N) made his character using a feature called gene combiner so his ingame character is the son of Momonga and Albedo. 8 years later and thousands of in-game hours and thousands of dungeon raids later the servers of Yggdrasil are closing. Momonga and his son have decided to spend the last hours of the game online and wait for the servers to shut down. After all both the father and son have fond memories of their time in Yggdrasil. I do not own the anime series or the manga. All of those rights go to their owners.

On his last moment, as the countdown of Yggdrasil's termination ticked, being left alone on the throne reminiscing on his past, those glory days of his and his fellow guild mate doing boss raid feel as if were yesterday, the loneliness of being left behind as the guild master, accepting the only place he could have once called home, now an isolated place waiting to be lost in time. If only he could rewind the time to savor that moment again. His fate seals the moment the timer hits zero. His story, as we know, unfolds as usual, But...what if a particular party were there with him until the very end? Would it drastically change the course of history? Would his fate be changed?

"I.... Must.... [Devour]....." That phrase always brings chills down every players spine when heard in the murky swamps of Yggdradil in it's first release, a phrase that can be categorized as "phrases you don't want to hear a second time". Players speculate that this was an NPC or an Intelligent monster that the developers made but they responded with: "We did no such thing", it brought everyone nightmares, the unknown will always bring despair to those who know of it existing but that unknown was soon discovered. "So you're the so called 'With Many Voices'..... You seem lonely here, would you like to have some friends..?" The 'creature' was sceptical, never in it's whole virtual life has anyone approached or even talked to it before but nevertheless agreed. When it entered a dungeon looking guild, it was greeted with open arms and smiles, this brought the creature into tears then it spoke. "Carrion....is his name..... Carrion.....is happy....!" And so [Carrion] became a part of a family, a family that was named [Ainz Ooal Gown].
