It started with his parents getting sick from random diseases, and it eventually led to him taking most of the day shifts for them. With Tweek's parents frail and sometimes on the brink of death, he has had to take time out of his education hours to take care of their family business. He ends up failing most of his tests, being unable to hang out with his group, and has a mind of anxiety and coffee as he has no one to vent to. It isn't until a certain boy decides to take time out of his day to make sure that he feels safe.

It could be worse. It could be better. In the end, it matters who wakes up in his bed.
