He doesn't want to feel this way and attempts to suppress the feelings as much as possible in the hopes of forgetting. This story follows Gou as he struggles with his feelings for Ash. It will follow his point of view. This story uses the Anime as a baseline. It won't necessarily follow the Anime's timeline or story but it's being used as a guide to develop the story.
