After Mara's mother dies in a drunk-driving accident, Rowan Calloway learns he has a five-year-old daughter he never knew existed. Overnight, his life and his family's life changes. His siblings discover they have a young niece who was kept hidden from them, tucked away and largely forgotten. Mara grew up neglected, learning early how to stay quiet and out of the way. A previous car crash left her partially deaf and she was born blind in one eye. Her hearing was never treated and never known. By the time Rowan brings her home, Mara has already learned to navigate a world that isn't catered to her. She learns to not ask for help, and Rowan has no idea how much of the world she can't fully see or hear. As Rowan tries to step into the role of a father he never expected to be, he struggles to understand a child who doesn't react the way he thinks she should. Misunderstandings pile up, love feels clumsy, and everyone is learning in real time how to communicate, how to slow down, and how to listen better, sometimes without realizing that they don't need to just listen. They need to feel.

"Don't get close to your brothers, you will only get hurt if you do. They are devil incarnates, Willow, pure evil, they do not deserve a pure soul like you." She placed her hand on top of Willow's hand, squeezing it gently. "Willow...they will kill you one day when they have enough of playing family with you. You understand how serious it is?" Willow stared at her in silence for few seconds, and then she blinked and removed her hand gently from her grasp. "What do you think I should do?" The woman gave the answer immediately. "Run away. Escape, go far from them, where they will never catch you." Willow breathed out first and answered tiredly but brusquely. "It means I will have to choose death then."

She pushes back at school. But the harder she fights, the more pressure builds, and the more dangerous it becomes for the girl who won't give up. "And I bet you believe that too, don't you? That nothing will break you- that you can push through this?" Blake didn't stop. His smile grew wider as he cruelly raised my face to meet his. "Well this is a promise to you, Cara. I can and will break you. I won't stop until I fully ruin you and you lose every part of yourself." I didn't let myself believe him. I would find a way out. This wouldn't last forever. "Why don't you ever talk about your family? Are they that bad like toxic/abusive or something?" "My brothers are not abusive. It's just complicated." She whispered the last part under her breath. ********************* A fair warning: The book deals with immense trauma and triggering topics, with several light-hearted moments also highlighted. It could be tooth-aching sweet at a time. PROCEED WITH CAUTION!

Welcome, everyone :) This Story is original and not inspired by any other story. Please do not copy. (Some events are real and from personal experience). The description is not that good, so here are some of the readers' opinions: @marathefox33 : This is the best book i every read, i dont even have any words for it😭 @rosienymous : Wow this book has been such a wild ride ,it's sooooo niceeee Gonna read the sequel now!! @HeaveN_Stares : This is literally one of the most amazing books I've read here in Wattpad. 💞 @Elegant_meows : THIS WAS LITERALLY SUCH A WILD RIDE ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS IVE EVER READ ❤️❤️❤️THE CHARACTERS ARE WRITTEN SO WELL AND THE STORY IS SPECTACULAR IM SO GLAD I FOUND THIS BOOK THE ENDING MADE ME CRY 😭 @ReesesPieces945 : Ok, so, this book is like a real life fairy tale where it doesn't always end in happily ever after. It's kinda like a reverse fairy tale because at the beginning it's all happy and rainbow and unicorns for the most part and at the end it's really dark and sad. That's just what I think @bananagirl5264: literally could not put my phone down from your work. you have a real talent and im so excited to see how much more you can affect me with your beautiful writing. @LisaSimonPatrik: This book so far brought tears, joy and sooo much love. You follow each brother and can easy relate to how easy it is to missunderstand and for a child like miray to try and voice her thoughts and feelings. I can only say one thing this book is a gem ❤️ Thank you for putting time writing this book one i will keep rereading ❤️
