It's been two years since Newt first woke up to the Glade and, since Alby and he managed to enforce a number of rules to stop anarchy among all the other boys, nothing has changed much. Every month means the arrival of a new boy to the Glade and four weeks more without finding a way out of the Maze, and every month Newt grows more hopeless about his future. Until Thomas. Newt had heard the stories, knew them like the back of his hand: everybody has a soulmate in this world, one person made just for them, blah, blah, blah. Their initials were inscribed on everybody's chest, just to the left of the sternum, directly over the heart. That he was fine with. The problem for him, personally, lay within the other condition: that if you came within close proximity of your soulmate, but failed to meet them, you would have to relive the day until you succeeded. Which, in theory, seems like a good idea, but that's because most people didn't fuck up this badly.

Thomas and Newt met when they were younger, (7 years old to be exact) they thought what they did was right, kiss each other on the cheek and hold hands. Thomas' parents thought it was the most adorable thing in the world, aside from Newts parents, well, not so much. Thomas never saw Newt after that, he never got to keep in touch, which broke his heart. Until, 11 years later, he saw him at last, at a very bad time, but the right time to save the love of his life, as he thought over the years. (Trigger warning)

Thomas awakens in a box, remembering only his first name. He arrives in the Glade, a place surrounded by an unsolvable maze, a place full of teenage boys, who also have no idea how they'd gotten there. Then a girl arrives with a message, saying everything is going to change. And the fight to get out of there becomes much more important. WARNING: There will be many triggering things in this series but I will put trigger warnings at the beginning of those chapters NEARLY ALL CHARACTERS OWNED BY JAMES DASHNER, NOT BY ME.
