Wei Wuxian, the Vice President of Jiang international wakes up hungover in a hotel. He can't remember the night before which isn't uncommon for him. But he has a tremendous pain in his lower back and there is an extremely pretty boy lying naked beside him claiming to be compensated. Wei Wuxian doesn't want anyone to know that he slept with a boy. To shut him up he agrees to get a certificate with him and few hours later they are married but in secret. Wei Wuxian promises to take care of him but when he goes back to the Jiangs his step mother berates him for his drinking and claims that he molesyed his sister while drunk. His older sister Jiang Yanli refutes it but Madame Yu makes it an excuse to drive him out of the Jiang home and fire him. With his little saving over the years Wei Wuxian goes to his tiny apartment. He is surprised to find the boy, Lan Wangji, knock on his door with a pack of beer that night. Lan Wangji, the Chairman of ZBG, known to the world by his alias of Hanguangjun fell in love with Wei Wuxian in eighth grade. He was the quiet boy whom no one paid much heed to. Wei Wuxian didn't even know he existed. Lan Wangji on the other hand never could let go. He stalked him for over ten years and finally approached him the night Wei Wuxian was drunk and blacked out. He took his obsession to a hotel room to have him throw up all over his clothes and then slip and hurt his back. Needless to say he stayed the night to keep him safe. In the morning when a hilarious misunderstanding occurs he convinces his crush to compensate him by marrying him and to his utter disbelief Wei Wuxian agrees, provided that they keep their marriage secret. After receiving the certificate they go their different ways. When Lan Wangji finds out that the Jiangs have not only fired Wei Wuxian but also kicked him out of home, he uses his resources to track his husband and shows up at his door with a pack of beer even though he doesn't drink. What ensues is chaos.

Suppose you ignore the fact that he is the only Asian-looking one in his American family, is often bored, and the only one who sees these strange shimmering mists around other people. In that case, Xiao Zhan is a completely normal boy. After his father is offered and accepts an extremely lucrative position as an English professor at one of China's largest universities, he and his family move to the country where he was born. He wasn't exactly happy at first, especially when he found out that the proposed universities where he would make up his final year were all too far away from his new home, so for better or worse he had to move into one of the dormitories. Nevertheless, he finds his feet very quickly. So things couldn't be better and easier.... if it weren't for this one, admittedly extremely attractive new student teacher. Why doesn't he engage in conversations execept? WHy does it feel like he is watching Xiao Zhan? And if he does, why does he rarely make eye contact? Why does he keep his distance from everyone, especially Xiao Zhan? Where does he disappear to so suddenly after every lesson and why the hell does Xiao Zhan seem so interested in him?
