The sky was painted dark.Very Dark with no bright stars.A gush of wind swirled past us making me inhale softly. The large man besides me leaned against the iron railing. His eyes fixed ahead of us as if seeing something that I couldn't. A lone tear slid down my cheek as I brushed it off rather harshly.Finding my voice I spoke softly remembering a distinct and beautiful memory, "After you left I once asked Mama when you would come back. She stayed silent for a minute and then she answered that when you'll miss me you'll be back" Another tear rolled down my cheek and this time I didn't brush it.My light brown eyes stared at his handsome face, seeing him look down at this hands. His face constricting into something I could not decipher. "And I was a fool to believe her that day because now I know I was the only one waiting. " My words were bitter but I whispered softly. Turning around I left leaving the man to his own thoughts. I loved and now I've lost myself in the lands of love. ... Love conquers all but death takes all. ------------------------------ "Trying to leave so fast?" a deep voice questioned as a man stepped out from behind the shadows. As he appeared in the light, I caught a glimpse of his face. Tanned with slight stubble, he was dressed in all black. His brown eyes seemed so warm yet so full of terror that I felt myself take a step back in fear. He was undeniably attractive, his hair pushed back and his muscles prominent through his black shirt. He circled around me with a cruel smile on his face, a short dagger in his hand covered in mesmerizing scriptures. As he pressed the blade into his thumb, his eyes moved from the blade to my face. "So, young princess. How do you explain your presence?" he asked, stalking towards me, tantalizingly. My eyes were glued to his eyes, and I felt the warm feeling of butterflies in my stomach. Electricity crackled between us, the purple veins giving us life as he stepped closer. Mesmerized, I remained silent, my eyes wide with awe. My hands stuck to my sides and my knees glued to the stone, cold floor. What was happening to me? ------------------------------ When Princess Ayeesha of the Jarula kingdom is captured by the Karians, she will do anything to get back to her family. As she is taken deeper into the world of Kara and its King, she discovers friendship, pain, and betrayal from the people closest to her and from those afar.
