"Most villains just don't seem to get it. It's the same story, everywhere you go. Villain appears. Villains wants money/power/destruction. Villain almost gets money/power/destruction. Then, at the very last minute, some hero swoops in, makes a desperate play, and the villain goes byebye. My point is, the villains never win. So, my philosophy was: if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. Or make them think that's the plan, anyways." A short story about a patient villain and a clever plan.

Artemis Lyall wasn't like the majority born, he wasn't fated to have a long life where his dreams could run rampant. He wouldn't even live long enough to know what dreams were, it was heartbreaking for his parents to expect. So they didn't, they let go of their pride one night and begged for their first born. Not stopping until the moon goddess bestowed the gift of a long life on Artemis, all rejoiced. The Amaris Pack would have their rightful Alpha, but they would have to say their farewells until the time came for his rule of the pack to start. Aretmis wasn't just bestowed the gift all of the other children had, instead the moon goddess threw in a few of her own blessings that could be mistaken for a curse. It had his parents sending him away, somewhere far from anyone he could harm and where he could learn to harness the deadly powers racing through his veins. This isolation was to last until his twenty first birthday, the time when he was expected to find a mate that he no longer wanted. The Alpha and Luna thought that they sent their little miracle to a safe institution, but that wasn't the truth. Things never went as planned.

To someone that isn't paying much attention, it seems that everyone in the kingdom of Arthronia will have a happily ever after. This would seem especially true for Nathaniel Derrington: at eighteen his unparalleled knack for stabbing dragons wins him a spot in the royal guard, a respectable position with a fat paycheck and almost zero responsibility. But to someone that is paying attention, things aren't looking so hot. 1.) Political tensions are rising. 2.) Magic is starting to run out. 3.) Nathaniel is completely gay for his employer. You know, the King. When a royal ball takes a turn for the worst, Nathaniel is thrown into a new kind of adventure. A kind where sanity is no longer a requirement, honesty isn't the best policy, and good people don't always get happy endings. Things get ugly. But hey, life isn't a fairy tale. And it's time for Nathaniel to wake up and smell the roses.

[A psychological thriller] When you can't even pay for a bottle of water, you might want a friend like Casper. This may be hard considering he's the God-given prophet of Seabrook high; the type of kid who offers existential philosophies on a Monday and spews poetry the next. Friends are a select few for Casper, and Holden doesn't have the right kind of luck for a golden ticket. But he isn't worried. After all, to win the heart of a prophet, all you need is intelligence. And intelligence is all he's got. Cover credit: Photo by Martin Stranka. Design by toska_. Trailer Credit: Clips from Xavier Dolan films. Made by me.
