[10x times featured] Countless people have suffered tragedy simply for a protagonist to shine and rise as heroes, but are they really heroes if they ruin everyone else's stories for the sake of their own? Ever since Empress Calypso Berenice nearly drowned in a lake, she has been recalling some very strange memories that are not her own. Memories that belong to another life, another time---where she lived as Park Hanbyeol, a thirty-year-old music producer from modern-day South Korea. If that isn't bizarre enough, the proud and dignified empress also discovers that the world she now lives in is nothing but a tragic fiction novel Park Hanbyeol once read and hated with a passion. Calypso, along with all the main characters from the original story appears to have traveled back in time with the memories of the first timeline, but she isn't even one of the main characters---she's merely an unimportant extra; the male lead's wife whom the villain executed without a second thought. Her tragic death wasn't even mentioned in the story, so why on earth has she regressed as well? *** Featured in: @WattpadDarkFantasy @WattpadTimeTravel @WattpadAlternateUniverse @anime @WattpadAsianFantasy @StoriesUndiscovered @WattpadHistoricalRomance @Fantasy @lowfantasy @HistoricalFiction *** WARNING: This story is mature due to the heavy topic such as mental health, trauma, etc, so please read with caution. Irene is a known writer. Her published works have always been well-received despite her notable fascination with bittersweet endings. Not just that, she's also a linguist and of course, a wide reader. One fateful night, while she was at an old rodden bookstore she happened to notice a book somewhat glimmering in the bookshelf. Realizing that it was well-written, she took it home, read it without putting it down for two days and eventually found herself in awe with the character of Magnus Baudin Veritas Courtenay who she considered to be a tragic yet well-rounded antagonist. In her mind, before she succumbed to her drowsy sleep-deprived fatigue, Irene unbeknownstly yearned to save this villain from his treacherous path of misery. When she woke up, her eyes widened in shock. What happened? Why is she all of a sudden in a somewhat English mansion, reminiscent of the setting of her recent read? What in the world happened? And what does it have do to her? (A/N: I own the story but not the artworks.)
