"I almost forgot the way you feel." "I'm more than willing to remind you... every night." You and Bucky met when you were just kids, two souls caught in the chaos of a world at war. Even then, beneath the uniforms and duty, something deeper was growing. Something neither time nor silence could truly bury. You are Howard Stark's twin sister, a genius in your own right. But shortly after the war, an experiment at Stark Industries went terribly wrong. A biological weapon nearly took your life, until Howard created a serum to save you. One that didn't just stop the disease... It stopped you. Now, you're almost 97, but the world sees a woman of 26. A ghost out of time. A secret buried beneath decades of classified files and faded memories. And Bucky Barnes, the man you once loved, the one who never truly left your heart, is back. It's time to find out if the flame you buried in the '40s still burns... Or if the years have changed you both so much, that the past is too far gone to rewrite. Author's Note: This story begins during the events of Civil War. While it's based on the original MCU timeline, you'll notice a few key changes I've made to better fit the story I wanted to tell. I do not own any of the characters, all rights belong to Marvel. Also, English is not my first language, but I'll do my best to make this an enjoyable read. Thank you for being here, and I truly hope you enjoy the story!

You were supposed to be out with your friends-dressed up, laughing, celebrating your 23rd birthday. Not bleeding on the sidewalk in the middle of a downtown explosion. Not waking up in a hospital bed, confused, aching, and staring straight into the eyes of a man you'd only seen on screens. He wasn't supposed to be there. But neither were you. Bucky Barnes had no reason to remember you. You weren't an agent. Not a genius. Not anyone important. Just the girl who'd thrown herself between a child and falling debris, and ended up with fractured bones and scars she couldn't see in the mirror without flinching. But he came back. Again and again. At first, you thought it was guilt. Then you realized... it was something else. Now, your life is anything but normal. Secret training sessions. Shadows that follow you home. Enemies whispering your name like you matter. Like you're the crack in his armor they've been waiting to find. And still, when everyone calls you his weakness... He leans in close and whispers: "You're the only reason I haven't given up." You didn't choose this world. But maybe-just maybe-you'll survive it for him. Hi! Just a quick note before you start: this story doesn't follow the original timeline or canon. English is not my first language, so please be patient with any mistakes. Also, I don't own any of the characters - I'm just here to have fun with them. Hope you enjoy the story!

After the events of Civil War, the Avengers were left fractured emotionally and politically. Some became fugitives, others worked in secret, and several walked away after the battle in Wakanda. Thanos did come... but he never got the chance to snap. The Avengers, divided and bleeding, stood together one last time with unexpected help and stopped him. No one died, but the scars ran deep. Now they are trying to get back together. The world, however, lost faith in its heroes. Governments stopped trusting them. Oscorp rose quietly from the shadows. And old enemies like Zemo began gathering strength, ready to strike when the world's protectors were at their weakest. Nick Fury disappeared after the final battle. But he never stopped watching. From the shadows He was looking for survivors. People with conviction. People who had lost and kept going. People like her. You weren't just another recruit. You were the fire they'd forgotten they needed. "They fight for what was. You... you'll fight for what's next. The world doesn't need more broken idols. It needs new fire. And you... you burn." But not everyone welcomes you. Bucky Barnes doesn't trust easily, especially not someone who knows too much and says too little. You're not afraid of him. He's not sure if that's a good thing. You clash. You fight. And somehow, in the quiet between storms, you begin to fall. Author's note: This story takes place in an altered version of the Marvel universe, where some timelines have been adjusted to fit the narrative. I don't own any of the Marvel characters, they belong to Marvel. Also, English isn't my first language, so I may go back and fix small mistakes as I update. Thank you so much for reading. I hope you enjoy diving into this powerful, messy, and emotional journey.

You didn't choose this. You didn't choose the soft-white dress, the diamond ring, or the thousand flashing cameras. You didn't choose him, either. But here you were-smiling for a crowd that wanted a fairy tale. Because your company and his had been enemies for years. And now, they needed to look like family. So they married you to James Buchanan Barnes. Heir to Barnes Dynamics. Cold. Sharp. Arrogant. Beautiful. A man who whispered on your wedding night: "You're just a business decision." Fine. You were raised to play the long game. But no one warned you how loud silence could be in a shared bed. No one warned you how it would feel when the hatred cracked... and desire slipped through the break. They wanted a merger. But what they got was a fire. Author's Note: Hi! This story is not based on the Marvel Cinematic Universe, although the characters are inspired by it. I do not own any of them - all rights belong to Marvel. English is not my first language, so thank you for being patient with me. And most of all, thank you for reading. I hope you fall in love with the chaos.

"It wasn't what I had planned on happening, nor did I really want it at all. It just kind of happened. I wanted to leave this kind of life behind, thought that I finally had with becoming a congressman and was going to be able to fight for good in a different kind of way; all I've done my whole life is fight and I'm tired of it. Yet here we are." He pauses. "I'm okay though. I've put in a lot of work over the last few years and I'm proud to say that. I'm good now, not perfect, probably won't ever be, but I'm good," he says quietly. As Bucky Barnes adapts to his new life as a New Avenger, the last thing he has on his mind is finding a girlfriend. As he gets to know you he finds solace in the calm you bring to his life in amongst all the chaos and cannot stop himself from falling for you, nor you for him, as scary as it may seem at times. Set in between the events of Thunderbolts and the post credits scene fourteen months later.

You had never been saved. You had to run. You escaped the Red Room on your own. Not because the system failed. Not because someone came to your rescue. Because you chose to. Because you had the nerve. The rage. And even when you made it out, freedom felt like a new kind of cage-just bigger. You got on the Avengers' radar because someone saw what you could do. Not Natasha. Not Clint. Not Tony. It was Steve. The compound was a strange kind of haven. They didn't answer to anyone. Not to governments, not to orders. They weren't soldiers. They were a team-autonomous, rebellious, functional. You didn't know if you could fit into that. But then... then he came along. Bucky Barnes. The Soldier turned man. Quiet. Kind. Brutal. Careful. He wasn't afraid of you. And you didn't know what to do with that.

Mickey Henry has never been good at staying in one place - not even for his own son. Athens was supposed to be a temporary stop, another half-hearted attempt to outrun the wreckage he leaves behind. But when he crosses paths with you - a fiercely independent fashion designer who's built a life out of stitches and second chances - something shifts. You aren't just another fleeting moment; you're a possibility he thought he'd lost long ago. In a city woven from contradictions - chaos and calm, ruins and rebirth - two damaged souls collide. Together, you'll learn that sometimes, healing isn't loud or dramatic. Sometimes it's slow, stumbling, and imperfect. And sometimes, love is about choosing to stay when every instinct tells you to run. A story of passion, family, and the messy redemption that only love can offer. AUTHOR'S NOTE Hi there! Just a small reminder: English is not my first language, so please be kind with any mistakes you might find. Also, this story is a reinterpretation of Monday (2020), the film starring Sebastian Stan - not a direct continuation, but a replacement of its original events. Thank you for reading, and I hope you enjoy Half Dressed Hearts.
