Every faery is born with a gift. Every gift is used for the good of fae existence, but when a troublesome faery is blessed with the greatest of abilities, the outcome doesn't look so promising. Nahtaia is a mischievous faery with one of the greatest of gifts; distortion. After accidentally turning a human boy into faery size, her powers are immediately seized by the Jaydürian Voices (deities) and banishment is a likely punishment. Luckily, the Minister of Fae Assignment is unaware of her mistake. With the help of a pine faery named Oren, Nahtaia must find a way to change the human back to his natural state and regain her abilities, all while keeping hidden from the keen eyes of the Ministers of the faery realm lest she be stripped of her wings and doomed to a life without the one thing she loves most; magic.

The first time Mel saw Dean was in an elective class called Madness in Literature. He had been sitting a few rows down in his green parka, writing furiously into his notebook. Something about him made her stop and stare, and it felt like she hasn't looked away since. But there is a reason why Dean seldom comes to class. And why he seems reluctant to be her friend. And why he disappears for ages with answering her messages. Mel would have been bothered by all of it, except that she doesn't care. When it comes to Dean, she was willing to overlook a lot of things. This is a short story about two young people trying to find themselves and instead stumbling upon love.
