Hermione is the one who finds Draco weeping in the bathroom. He flees. She chases him into the Room of Requirement, and the room forces them to face their greatest fears together in order to find the door. (The original story by Alydia Rackham, first published in 2010)

Five years after the war, Draco and Hermione meet by chance as she wanders into a French vineyard just hoping to re-live a trip she took there with her parents during her school years. Instead, she finds a shirtless, barefoot Draco Malfoy hiding out unbeknownst to the wider wizarding world. He's ashamed of his past misdeeds, and she's been recently humiliated by her soon to be ex-husband. Neither are aware that their lives are about to be inexorably linked, forever.

Her fingers curled into fists as her eyes filled with tears. "I'm pregnant," she whispered before she bit her lip. "I'm sorry, what?" Draco asked, praying to some God that he had misheard her. "I'm pregnant, and it's yours."

Harry saw Malfoy roll his eyes in exasperation. ''I'm not going to Kedava you dead Potter, calm down.'' He said nothing as Malfoy gathered his thoughts. ''I'm trying to...you see... what's up with Granger?'' Harry felt himself recoil as is pushed. What right did Malfoy, out of everyone, have to talk about Hermione. Two years after the War, Hermione is working at St. Mungo's as a Healer when the Director of the Hospital asks her to take their newest Healer, Draco Malfoy, under her wing. After a rough start and four years of working together, the two have become rather decent friends. When Hermione's relationship with Ron hits a rather large bump, Draco is the only one she feels she can turn to.

Hermione Granger did not know just what she was getting into when she made friends with a pointy faced, blond boy during her first year. Draco Malfoy did not know how utterly in love he'd become with the bushy haired muggle born girl. Both of them thought they knew what they could expect when they returned to Hogwarts for their final year, but after a freak encounter with some werewolves and an unfortunate incident with wannabe Death Eaters, things turn out much, much different than either of them could have ever imagined. All Hermione wanted to do was to return to Hogwarts and finish her education with a bang as Head Girl. After that, she had her whole life sorted out. She would work things out with Ron, work at the ministry, and become Minister for Magic one day. The universe, as usual, had other plans. Draco certainly wasn't expecting McGonagall to pick him as Head Boy but Harry Potter declined and as per usual, he was the second choice. Unsure what the people back in school had in store for then after all the Death Eater business they were involved in, he returns to Hogwarts with his friends to finish their education anyway. Neither one saw the partnership coming, nor the friendship forged between their two sides. They really didn't plan for any of it to happen - the law, the friendship or the love that changed both of them.
