Born as the first SkyWing animus in centuries, she was forced to keep a low profile her entire life. Now at school, everything has changed supposedly for the better. But something sinister lurks in the shadows, and waits for no one...

There's a new dragon at Jade Mountain Academy, and his name is Darkstalker. Only a few months after the events set off by the rising of the original Darkstalker, the ancient and evil animus, this new dragon's arrival sets off suspicion and tension throughout the school. Soon after, disaster after disaster strikes the school, too many to just be a coincidence. The prophecy returns. Attacks and explosions besiege the school, and Moonwatcher, Qibli, Kinkajou, Turtle, Winter, and two new additions to their winglet, Darkstalker and Aurora, are caught up in the middle of what could be the second Return of the Stalker of the Dark.

Hybrids are known for their quirky looks and being the sore-thumb of their tribes. The seven tribes saw hybrids as pretty artifacts to look at in cages, however after years of oppression, one dragon changes this non-sense reigning for centuries. Lantern, born with the blood of rainwings/seawings explores the truth of being a hybrid. From being able to adapt to both environments and possessing many skills, to feeling the harsh pain of inequality in Pyrhias dark ages, Lantern discovers the deep secrets beneath the world of Wings Of Fire. Will this half-blood learn to accept his perspective and become true to his fellow tribes, or corrupt under Pyrhias talons? This is the beginning, the match to the candle of a Lantern.

Danger is hidden in even the safest of places... Valley Academy, a school for Silkwings only on a island a bit away from Pantala, is the hope for flamesilks. Marblewing and Moonflower, the founders of the school, want to make it a safe place for Silkwings with a chance of being flamesilk to not be captured in Wasp' claws. But of course, the students don't know it. So when Sunrise gets a invitation to Valley Academy, she makes friends quickly and has a good time. Nightfighter is a strange NightWing, he has light blue eyes and most importantly, the powers of the NightWings lost centuries ago. He has both mind reading and prophecy telling. He attends Jade Mountain Academy meeting Moonwatcher, another mind reader. He meets new friends, his winglet. He soon finds out about dark secrets along with his newly found friends. Death follows, with a great danger lurking above them. Will Nightfighter and his friends survive? Or will they die trying? If you haven't read the books yet, this might be a bit confusing because this takes place first in book six and takes some information from book 7. Most of this book was made before book 9: "Talons of Power" so I might get some stuff wrong. Wings Of Fire and it's characters does not belong to me but to Tui T. Sutherland, all rights are hers. Definitely recommend reading the entire trilogy because plotholes will be explained. A big twist at the final book too.
