Bruce Wayne is missing, and Wayne Manor is empty. It's the perfect place for a tired young ghost to settle down and earn the qualifications for his haunting permit. Unfortunately, he didn't account for the groundskeeper, and now he has to spend ten years learning the ins and outs of haunting. All while coexisting with a kind old butler named Alfred Pennyworth. This is a rewrite of A Chance To Trust, in progress. Little Danny Fenton got his powers at a remarkably young age at the cost of his family, the GIW get him soon after. A few years later Danny is 9 and still suffering at the hands of the Guys In White, until a certain Bat comes and rescues him. Now Bruce has to deal with a young terrified mislabeled metahuman who is a lot stronger than he looks and has an uncanny ability to know exactly what anyone is feeling. The GIW, on the other hand, can't let their lab rat heal and save the Ghost Zone they've been working so hard to take over. Things just got a little more spooky in Wayne Manor. Jumping off the building's roof and onto another one, he quickly ran off in the direction he knew where the kid was. Paying no mind to Nightwing's hand that reached out to him. And certainly paying no attention to the vibration of his phone when he turned off his comms. He'll deal with it all later. For now, there was only one goal on his mind. Save the king. Tony Stark's daughter is lost in Gotham with no way of getting home and a certain Batfamily trying to adopt her. This was bad. Her thoughts were hard to make out with the pain in her head. The last thing she remembered clearly was the stage and then Harley and Peter trying to grab for her. Something had to happen in between then and now, that led her to being dropped on a rooftop. She padded her pockets down and cursed when she realized she didn't have her phone. Any chance of using the emergency credit card she kept slipped inside the case was lost with it. Only her Stark Watch remained, though severely cracked. When she touched its screen, nothing happened. She'd need to find another way to get in touch with her family. Something is wrong. Bruce notices it when he's not alone, but he feels like he is being watched. The bad part? He feels it both as Bruce Wayne and as Batman. Who is watching him? He's determined to find out. He regrets it when finds out that there is another child in his home, but one who is in desperate need of help.

When a sick child asks to meet a villain (instead of a celebrity or superhero like with most wishes), someone's got to have the guts to track these wanted individuals down. It's not as easy as one would think. And what's there to worry about: they're all big softies anyways... right?
