Kokichi Ouma is dead, and unaware of it, still living in his house as a spirit. He notices the change in behavior of his parents as well as Saihara. Upset over his friends absence from his life Kokichi goes to Saihara's house to check on him. Once there Kokichi finds a very anguished Saihara lying on his bed crying kokichi tries to ask him whats wrong but Saihara can't hear him. Siahara goes to sleep and Kokichi some how menages to travel inside the dream.
