Catherine Dyleisi lives a life filled with ease and creativity. She adores her family, her arts, and the legends she's heard since she was young about her world and its ancient inhabitants. Though the last war occurred when she was little, her kingdom still protects itself from enemies. The naïve life of Catherine's is shattered once she learns of her brother's death during an ambush in the Forbidden forests of Vsileth, causing a declaration of war amongst the West lands of Torlat. Many kingdoms have not interacted in years since the civil war of the mundane kingdom of Rhhyms against New Vsileth, yet this causes a change. Catherine runs away to the main kingdom of Vsileth alone despite her father's warnings after Jon's death. Though Catherine is no knight, she is able to handle a sword and travels into the forest to arrive at the Vsileth castle. Along her way, a knight named Lucan finds her during one of his watches. After a fearing event, Catherine arrives at the castle with Lucan meeting Prince Elric and the king, unknowing that her father arrived only shortly after her disappearance. Catherine makes the decision to continue to train and learn to fight in order to avenge her brother's death against her father's wishes, however she is not aware of the betraying poison within the castle's walls, learning to fall in love, discovering friend and foe- a fate she never could have seen coming. This is a story where the fairytales are simply ancient history. Betrayal is as prominent as adoration. Follow along with Catherine and her discoveries of a newfound life beyond her usual piano keys and stories of her ancestors. Read as she accepts her promise and sword, fighting beside the kingdom's best. Will she avenge her brother and earn honor from her kingdom? Or will she fall ill to the slow poisonous betrayal from an unsuspected enemy? All Rights Reserved ©
