In a world where all magic is outlawed, finding a magic user is a hard thing to do. Hermitcraft is a hidden safe-space, where magic users can hide from the authorities, the outside world, in a family of other magic users, but it's impossible to find without being brought there, so many magic users could never hope for salvation, since they don't know it exists. Something strange begins to happen to Grian, and he leaves the Island for information. But of course, his fellow Hermits have to come rescue him. He spends some time recovering and thinks it's all in the past. But after accidentally poisoning Mumbo, Grian discoveres the story isn't quite over yet.
