The girl in room four-seventeen seems to be a permanent part of the paediatric wing of St. Anne's Hospital. She is bright, smiley, full of life. She doesn't look sick at all. Ben Carlisle becomes a semi-permanent visitor, taking all the time he can to visit his sister, Emily, who has been diagnosed with Leukaemia. Again. The girl in 417 is nothing but a privileged kid with no place else to go. He seems to be the only one who doesn't like her, or her ability to make him think beyond his self-involved mindset. So why is it that he can't seem to stay away from her?
