Both parents died and before the ambulances or paramedics came, Izuku ran. From that moment forward he trained himself physically and emotionally, he could take a bullet wound like a hit, he barely felt anything. By the time he was 14 he was the world's most well known vigilante but no one knew what he looked like, he was that good. Izuku wants more from himself, he knows he deserves more from the body he was given. He knows the world doesn't believe in him. The world will never open its eyes to someone different, that's just a known fact about people. The probability of people accepting Izuku as a hero let alone a vigilante is extremely low. That just means he has to take that probability by the throat and leave it behind him. You can guess what he does with that.
