(TRIGGER WARNING. Contains many suicide themes) After a bad break-up with his boyfriend, Kellin feels like he's left with nothing, so he attempts suicide. Now he's thrown into suicide watch and there's only one person who he feels like opening up to; the positive and cheery volunteer, Vic.

Kellin moves from Michigan to California with his abusive drunk of a father. He was bullied at his old school and wants to fly under the radar at his new one, unfortunately for him he gets on the bad side of Vic, the leader of the school who turns everyone against him.
