I nodded, and clicked the X in the corner of the computer screen so that it would go back to the home page. “And you?” he asked, and I looked at him, a questioning look on my face. “Your name,” he added, cocking his head to the side, “you do have one right?” “Hazel.” He looked at me for a moment, and then he laughed, one of those deep laughs that could warm your heart. “What is it?” I asked, tugging on my shirt just incase it had ridden up, which the fabric had a tendency to do. “Your eyes aren’t hazel,” he replied. “Neither are yours,” I retorted and he rolled his eyes. “But my name isn’t an eye color is it?” he asked. “Look,” he commanded, and I looked over to find him straining to keep his eyes comically wide. ”My eyes are green,” he announced, but he didn’t need to. Update: This story has been discontinued. - I am terribly sorry. Your mother lied to you. She told you that you were unique, and that as a teenager you have a whole bunch of options you can choose from to determine who you want to be. She must have been high. Look, I'm going to tell you this honestly. Somewhere out there in this floating sphere of green and blue, there's a person who acts just like you. It's the combinations of different personalities - which eventually lead up to an actual human being - that makes us all unique. But it can't hurt to find out where your personality stems from, right? Wanna know who you are? I'll help you out. There are 36 students in my classroom. Which one are you?

Brooklyn Summers is like any other teen who breathes music... or so she thought. One night she finds out that everything in her life is a huge lie, that her father is actually not her real father. No, her father of blood is a retired rock star, Jamie Maze, from one of the bands she listens to, Melodies of Midnight. It took her dad fifteen years to come back to her, and he convinces her parents that she needs to spend two months of her summer with him at an apartment that he is keeping his rock-star identity undercover in. Brooklyn hates Jamie for leaving her in the first place, and for ruining her summer. But as she spends more time with him she realizes that they are more alike than she expected. And the next two months in this new town might not be so bad now that she knows Adam, her cute neighbor. And she suddenly finds herself being dragged into a... band?

Passport? Check. A book of maps of every country in the world? Check. Backpack and small suitcase that contains everything I possess? Check. The world best, international traveling, treasure hunting dad and the most awesome stepmom who is more like my best friend? Check. And new, totally gorgeous English intern of my father's who's tagging along on our next adventure? Double check. Call me, Callie Landon, nerdy and I'd have to totally agree. I mean, how could I not be nerdy when I graduated high school at thirteen and double majored in college and got my bachelor's in both history and international studies by sixteen? Again, just call me nerdy. But I loved my life of travel. I got to see the world with my dad and stepmom, searching for treasure that was thought to be lost for hundreds of years...until we found it, of course. And now we were going on an expedition to find one of the most sought after treasures: the hidden treasure of the infamous pirate Blackbeard. With the three of us, plus Max Knight, my dad's new intern, we were sure we would be able to find it with the help of some clues along the way. But then there are always those other people who just happen to think that they can find it before you and are willing to do anything to stop you. Oh, that's always fun. But then again, it's always fun in the world of treasure hunting. (Book 1 in the My Life Series)
