Matty has never really felt like a Winchester.
His brothers and his dad, they all suit it just fine. They're tall and strong and tough as nails, and nothing scares them. His father handles a gun like it's nothing, and Dean is effortless in everything he does. As for Sammy, he's free, and that's the best thing of all.
Matty is nothing like that. He's nervous and quiet and weak, and he couldn't hurt a thing if his life depended on it. In short, he's a disappointment. His dad's least favourite son, cowering in the corner in his brothers' hand-me-down clothes. Somedays, it feels like even his own skin doesn't really fit him right.
So, when Matty's dad vanishes one day, he's secretly kinda relieved. No more dark, disappointed eyes on the back of his neck, hating his every move. It would all be perfect, really, if it wasn't for one small thing.
Sammy.
