This is the "back-story" to Herc and Chuck Hanson, their Jaeger, The Striker Eureka, and Chuck's girlfriend, Willow. Herc's wife is not apart in this story, because she died during the first kaiju attack. She was in Calf. on a business trip, in a hotel that was on the beach.
