The protagonist of this book-- Amaya Hargreeves-- had just started to get used to the current year and time after an incident that caused her to lose the life she was used to, when her father suddenly passes away and reunites her with her siblings, even the ones she presumed to be dead. After the memorial, she assumed her life would go back to normal, but she was wrong. Her life is once again changed when her brother reveals why he came back from the future.
