Instead of being found, Mirabel runs away after Casita is destroyed. A decade later, she returns with a little girl at her side. Healing is it's own journey, and even now, Mirabel doesn't know if she's ready to face hers. But with time, patience and lot of family, maybe somewhere in the mess of her heart, there is room for the love she lost.

Mirabel tries so hard only to go unnoticed until she is undoubtedly noticed for being in the way again, for trying too hard and screwing up everything when she tries her best to help. As she watches little Antonio receive his gift, she wonders if she will ever be good enough for any of them. The cracks come, but this time she waits to tell anyone, not wanting to cause a scene during the celebration. Alternative Ending of Encanto: Instead of Mirabel going back to encanto, she runs away, Bruno choosing to go along with her. 20 years later, Mirabel has a new life miles away.
