Our story follows a Hobbit by the name of Marlena Rowen-Baggins. A resident of the Shire, at the age of six she was taken in by Bilbo Baggins after he had found her wandering alone far away from her home. At age eight, she was officially adopted by him. Ever since, she has become close to some of the Baggins family, particularly her adoptive father, Bilbo, and adoptive brother, Frodo Baggins, who is also Bilbo's nephew. Marlena's story begins on the day of Bilbo's 111th birthday, a day that will change her life, and Frodo's, forever. She develops a fondness for Thranduil as well, but she has a secret. A secret that she knows he would not take kindly to. Will she reveal her secret and face Thranduil, or will she let others suffer the consequences?

Being a king is hard. Raising a son is hard. Living with eternal grief is hard. King Thranduil is just trying to keep his kingdom running and his son safe when an elf is found with orcs at the border of Greenwood. Who could this mysterious elf truly be? But then the elf he rescued in the forest grows closer to Legolas, and Thranduil can not help but enjoy her company as well. Darkness descends over the forest, all because of this one elf. When lives are threatened, Thranduil must make a choice: his kingdom or his heart. 12/14/21- y'all I wrote this in high school and I kinda want to go through it again and do a bunch of editing. Some of my writing makes me cringe and what are we here for if not improvement. That being said, this story will change starting today probably and if you're in the middle of it, hopefully I don't confuse details or timelines for you. If you've already read it once and just felt like you had to read it again, maybe it will provide some new enjoyment. Who knows? Maybe I'll actually finish some other stuff I have on here.
