Obviously, with this kind of power, he used this to his advantage and pretends to care for those who are so head-over-heals for him. After a new student arrives, Adrien finds something out. Not everyone is attracted to a pretty face. Maybe the reason why he fools everyone is maybe he wanted to get them back. Or he was just... scared. And never wanted to love anyone, ever again.
